Robert De Niro will fall into the arms of Monica Bellucci in the third installment of Manual d’amore, the most successful series of Italian cinema in recent decades. The popular series is now aiming to make the leap to the U.S. market. Hopefully, with these two Hollywood stars, the series can get its goal to go to the US market soon.

Directed by Giovanni Veronesi, the two previous installments of Manual d’amore portrayed through four separate stories of the four stages of a couple, the four phases of four phases of love: love at first sight, the crisis, betrayal and the break. The second installment was released in 2007 and was with Elsa Pataky Spanish participation. It was also very successful to launch.

In this second installment Monica Bellucci also participated, though she is not playing as a repeated character. According to Aurelio de Laurentis who revealed in a statement to a mass media some few days ago, De Niro and Bellucci will star in one of four love stories that appear in this new film. The legendary actor will play a divorced American professor who lives in Rome and fall madly in love with the charms of the beautiful Italianinterpreter. This will be a very romantic film that should be watched.

Shooting process of Manual d’amore 3 will begin later this month in Rome again. And it still will be directed by Giovanni Veronesi and also with the Italian Carlo Verdone starring. They will really make a good series to be launched in US market.

My thoughts : Robert DeNiro says he doesn’t want to be dubbed, so we have to assume he’s been practicing his Italian. The Manuale d’Amores are not the best movies ever made in Italy, but they are cute – and I’ll take what I can get. Let’s hope the third of the trilogy makes it to America and is such a big hit that people want more – not just Manuale d’Amore 1 and 2, but lots more of the great new Italian movies.
