There’s a clear winner – Caterina Va in Città, the story of a girl who moves to Rome with her crazy father and has to deal with the mean girls at Rome High. I couldn’t find clip with English subtitles, but you get the idea (and the rental will have subtitles).

Best Tear Jerker – In the mood for a good cry? Here’s Caos Calmo , about what happens when mom dies. Why do they always kill the mom?

And Another with Nanni Morretti, La Stanza Del FIglio (The Son’s Room), about the death of a child.

Best Acting in a Movie – Hands down, Penelope Cruz in Non Ti Muovere – Don’t Move.

But I also have to give credit to Tilda Swinton for Io sono L’amore – I Am Love.

Not exactly blockbusters , but let’s not forget the best of the “Slice of Life” Movies, a real gem,
