You probably know Pierfrancesco Favino even if you don’t recognize his name because he’s been in some pretty popular American made movies. Having appeared in dozens here and in Italy, the 42 year old Roman actor is quite well known in Europe and should be the US.
If you’ve been watching the movies that I’ve been talking about here in this blog you’d have seen him in L’ultimo Bacio
, The Last Kiss, and he’s starred in many more that I’ll be talking about in the future, like La Sconosciuta
and Saturno Contro
.Favino received the David di Donatello award in 2006 for his role in the film Romanzo Criminale
, which I’m going to have to watch again, because I don’t remember liking it very much ( but it was probably just my bad Italian getting in the way).
Here in the US he was Christopher Columbus in Twentieth Century Fox’s Night at the Museum
, the leader of Miraz’s Telmarine troops, Lord Glozelle in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”, Peppi ‘The Great Butterfly’ Grotta in Spike Lee’s Miracle at St. Anna
and in 2009 he played the role of Inspector Ernesto Olivetti in Ron Howard’s Angels and Demons
.

And the bet is yet to come – next week I’ll be telling you about Come Undone
, or as they called it in Italy – Cosavogliodipiù. It’s just recently become available to us in the US on DVD.
The trailer is pretty hot – take a look:
