Vasco Rossi’s “Un Senso”

You either love him, hate him, or if you are in America, probably have never heard of him, but he’s one of Italy’s most important singer and song writers. Having produced 24 albums and over 130 songs, his song “Un Senso” was one of those ubiquitous songs that everybody’s heard one too many times on the radio – but still can’t hate. Here it is at the end of Sergio Castellito’s “Non Ti Muovere” – it’s just right for the movie.

Rossi said he thinks that Americans and British governments had been responsible for preventing him and other Italian musicians from becoming known in those countries. “Just as Bob Dylan was banned from playing in China, for 20 years I was barred from London. … It’s one of the many ‘presents’ that America left us after World War II. To favour the importation of American and British music to Italy and discourage the export of our talents abroad.”
