Here I go again with the bad translations… (from Mymovies.it)

This is exciting.

Sergio Leone’s final masterpiece  Once Upon A Time In America is returning – with an additional 40 minutes that Leone cut because of it’s length. This additional footage, never before dubbed, will be shown in the original language in it’s entirety, restored by the Cineteca in Bologna. The restoration will also include the original dubbed Italian that has been missing from DVDs and Blu-Ray editions distributed in Italy.

Leone’s children, Andrea and Raffaella Leone bought the rights for the film for Italy from Arnon Milchan and they could rerelease it in theaters, maybe presenting it at Cannes or Venice in 2012. The original version was at 229 minutes but Leone had originally imagined a film that would have been over 3 hours long. The Leone children hope that those who admired their father’s work, like Scorsese or Tarantino will want to collaborate on the project.
