Should Judge Block Amanda Knox Movie?

Amanda Knox didn’t get a fair trial, and thanks to a Lifetime (the TV network ironically billed “for Women“), her appeal will be compromised.

Knox pleaded with an Italian judge to block the showing of a Lifetime movie about her murder conviction and force it to be pulled from the Internet saying it could hurt her legal appeal.

“I am distressed by this invasion into my life and the way my life is being exploited,” Knox told Judge Teresa Giardino, her lawyers told reporters outside the judge’s office. “I consider it the culmination of repeated violations by the media of my person, my personality, and my story,” her lawyers said Knox told the judge. “These are all things that don’t correspond to the truth.”

Knox wants the judge to block the U.S. Lifetime channel movie “Amanda Knox: Murder in Italy” from being shown in Italy, where she is appealing her conviction to 26 years in prison for the 2007 murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher. It’s been released with Italian subtitles to a country that already thinks she’s guilty. I call this irresponsible and unconscionable.

I have seen almost every Lifetime Movie ever made – I’ve been a big fan over the years – and I’ve loved them, but their commitment to the truth in their stories has never been their strong point. I don’t intend to watch the Amanda Knox story and I have no reason to believe that it will be any different – CBS new agrees with me. I am deeply disappointed by Lifetime’s decision to continue hurting Knox’s chance for a fair appeal process and I’ve started my own personal boycott of the network.

Secondo me – in my opinion – they suck.
