Born July 25, 1960 in Rome he started out as an assistant director for Nanni Moretti and they became friends. Moretti acted in Luchetti’s 1991 “Il Portaborse” – a movie that earned him 4 David di Donatello awards.
He’s getting a lot of attention these days for his “gritty” films like “La Nostra Vita” and ” Mio Fratello è Figlio Unico“, but I’ll always have a soft spot for his girlie “Dillo Con Parole Mie“ (Ginger and Cinnamon).
