All I have to say is this – Bop Decameron had better be super-duper good. I’m excited about it because it’s such a great combination of Italian and American, with an American (Woody Allen) director in an Italian city (Rome) and a mixture of Italian and American actors and actresses. (Like Benigni and Penelope Cruz).
Woody Allen said recently on his set that “You can’t make a film in Italy without Benigni”, ( I think Italians might disagree) and they were spotted together yesterday at Campo dei Fiori with Benigni playing Leopoldo Pisanello, a normal and ordinary person who becomes famous by accident and then is followed around by the media. The scene was shot yesterday with everyone running around after him through the little streets around the neighborhood.
That was my neighborhood in February! I wish I owned that little apartment I was staying in!
