Venice or Bust

Maybe they'll award me a special Golden Lion for best blog.

Fair warning, Luigi Lo Cascio: if you are going to the Venice Film Festival, you can run but you can’t hide. I have a press pass and I want to meet you!

My daughter, a magazine editor, suggested I request one, and I got it, so hopefully I’ll have some really great stuff to share with you while I’m there. The festival runs from August 31 until September 10 but I’m just going for the last weekend. It’s the oldest film festival in the world and certainly one of the most highly respected.

I’m leaving, tomorrow for Europe and will be slightly unreliable here at I Love Italian Movies because I will be in constant search of free wi-fi for the #$*@! ipad but I’ll let you know what I discover that is new and different every chance I get. I have loaded “Pane e Tulipani” on it and will watch it, as is my tradition, on the plane over.

If any of you find yourself in Venice – here I am – look for me and say “Ciao!”
