We found the film crew for Woody Allen’s new movie, Bop Decameron, just around the corner from Campo de’ Fiori in Rome today but there was no Woody sighting. The trucks and staff were hanging around and I made them talk to me about what was going on – they told me that Woody was filming down by Piazza Argentina, but maybe inside where I wouldn’t be able to see them.
I told them about I Love Italian Movies and they seemed to get a kick out of me (the crazy American lady that loves Italian actors). I told them that I’d seen Woody on numerous occasions in New York and wasn’t particularly interested in seeing him anyway, that I’d love to see Scamarcio, but told me that they weren’t all that impressed with Scamarcio’s acting.
This is quite the non-story; right? But I amused myself for an hour or so trying to get information out of them and hanging out in Piazza Argentina to try to get a glimpse of someone famous,
and I did – I saw Woody Allen’s wife, Soon-Yi, in an alley that leads to the piazza.
What can I say? I am easily amused.
The apartment I’ve rented here is super shitty and the movie theater near it is still playing Kung Fu Panda 2 so I’ve decided to abandon it a few days early and head up to the film festival in Venice with my PRESS PASS so hopefully soon I’ll have more to tell you about than stories of me NOT seeing Italian movie stars.
