Penelope Cruz and Sergio Castellitto Together Again

Sergio Castellitto and Penelope Cruz in Rome on the set of Venuto al Mondo

From mymovies.it, some really good news about Sergio Castellitto and Penelope Cruz!

Penelope is in Rome again, after having been directed by Woody Allen in his Bop Decameron this summer, this time to work once again with Sergio Castellitto. She and Castellitto made a wonderful movie together in 2004 – Non ti Muovere (Don’t Move), based on a book by that name written by Castellitto’s wife, Margaret Mazzantini.
This time, the movie (set for a September 2012 release) will be called Venuto al Mondo (Into the World), the story of a single mother who brings her teenage son to Sarajevo, where his father died in the Bosnian conflict years ago, and this one is also from one of Mazzantini’s books.

“I want to talk about how they are human, the men and women, and of the many nameless heroes that under the terrible weight of a siege are able to retain their dignity, their compassion, and respect for themselves”, said Castellitto, who wrote the screenplay but will not appear in the film.  Emile Hirsch, from Sean Penn’s Into the Wild, will star as Diego.

Will Castellitto redeem himself after that hideous fiasco, La bellezza del somaro (Love and Slaps)? I’m thinking that if Penelope Cruz is involved, we may have a winner!
