With Dieci Inverni (the better choice) on Time Warner on demand right now is Weddings and Other Disasters – Matrimoni e altri disastri.
With Margherita Buy, Fabio Volo,and Francesca Inaudi, I thought it would be better, but it is pretty formulaic and disappointing. Variety magazine describes Margherita Buy’s part as “the Meg Ryan part” and that’s about right. She plays Nanà, in her 40s and a confirmed bachelorette (after her last boyfriend decided to become a priest) who gets roped into planning her sister’s wedding.
Helping her future brother-in-law, whom she at first does not care for and then comes to appreciate, in a Hollywood movie they would have fallen in love, but in this one, the ending did not make sense to me at all. It’s fluffy, and in my fluff I like the pretty, nice people to end up together and the bad guys to get what’s coming to them.
