Alvin and the Chipmunks at the Capri Hollywood Film Festival

IIf you were in Capri, Italy, right now you could attend the yearly international film festival – it’s going on until January 2 and has apparently become a big deal in the film industry, a winter vacation for the rich and famous.

Tonight, the 16th annual Capri Hollywood International Film Festival will give The Artist the Best Film Award, and will award Emmanuele Crialese’s Terraferma the Capri Peace Award – but the buzz today on MYmovies.it is over the Chipmunks, the Chipwrecked movie.

Arriving for the fiil festival at Capri

In Italy it’s called Alvin Superstar 3: Si salvi chi può!, and it will be presented at Capri with a pretty famous actress doing some of the dubbing – Isabelle Adriani, who is enjoying success from a bunch of current Italian films including Checco Zalone’s Che Bella Giornata.

Italy loved the first two Chipmunk movies and this one is equally crowd pleasing – I’m going to try not to read too much into this and all of the American movies being honored at the festival; after all, it  was created to celebrate Hollywood and not Italian films. Terraferma gets to play with the American movie stars because it’s being considered for an Academy Award this year (and my fingers are crossed.)

So in the meantime, since not much is happening on the Italian movie front, lets enjoy the chipmunks, all’italiano.
