Here are the next 20 films (continued from yesterday) that will be considered for David di Donatello awards. Again, most won’t have a chance, but I’ve put a ★ by the ones that I like.
ET IN TERRA PAX – Crime and drugs in a Roman suburb.
EX: AMICI COME PRIMA! – The first Ex was dismal, and I have little hope for this one. I’ve ordered it, but I’m sure it’s just another tired comedy with actors who should know better like Alessandro Gassman. At least Silvio Orlando sat this one out.
FACCIO UN SALTO ALL’AVANA (Hop over to Havana) Just another stupid comedy.
FINALMENTE LA FELICITA’ – (Finally happiness) Looks Like a School of Rock rip-off.
GLI SFIORATI (The drifters) – This story of a young girl whose mother died and is forced to go to live with her father and young stepmother got great reviews

★ HABEMUS PAPAM (We have a Pope) – Nanni Moretti’s excellent story about the Pope and his therapist, this one will be distributed in the US and has already been nominated for and won a bunch of awards.
HAI PAURA DEL BUIO (Afraid of the dark) – A girl loses her job in Romania and moves to Italy. This one has not yet been released but the critics like it.
HENRY – Cop story.
HYPNOSIS – A paranormal thriller about a kid who has hallucinations and amnesia – the reviews were BAD.
★ I BACI MAI DATI (Lost Kisses) – I loved this one starring Donatella Finocchiaro about a teenage girl who gets a couple of miracles attributed to her and her mother pimps her out as a saint.
I BAMBINI DELLA SUA VITA (The children in her life) – This drama about a woman trying to discover who her father is looks like a pretty forgettable film. One reviewer called it pretentious.
PRIMI DELLA LISTA (The first on the list) This comedy starring Claudio Santamaria about the ’70s got good reviews.
I SOLITI IDIOTI (The Usual Idiots) – I swear to God if this one is nominated for ANYTHING, this blog will stage a sciopero – a strike – for one day in protest. I Soliti Idioti is one of the worst things I’ve seen in a long time.
IL CUORE GRANDE DELLE RAGAZZE (big hearts of the girls) – With Micaela Ramazzotti, it’s a bad comedy about a respectable girl decides to marry an irresponsible man.
IL GIORNO IN PIU’ (An extra day) – From the book by the same name, it’s a fluffy comedy with Fabio Volo and Isabella Ragonese.
IL MERCANTE DI STOFFE (The fabric merchant) – Romantic drama about a guy who goes to Morocco for treasures.
IL MIO DOMANI (My tomorrow) Claudia Gernini stars in this story about a woman who works as a human resource manager and is having an affair with her boss.
★ IL PAESE DELLE SPOSE INFELICI (The country of the unhappy brides) – A group of boys save a young girl who tries to kill herself jumping off the roof of a church.
★ IL PRIMO INCARICO (the first assignment) – Isabella Ragonese plays a young teacher whose first teaching job is in a little town far away from her fiance.
IL SESSO AGGIUNTO (The sex assistant) – The Story of a drug addict trying to get off heroin.
