Sergio Castellitto’s Son Pietro, The Porn Star

Pietro Castellitto with Luciana Littizzetto and Rocco Papaleo

Sergio Castellitto, star of Non ti Muovere (Don’t Move) and his wife Margaret Mazzantini (author of Non ti Muovere) have a 20-year-old son that’s a porn star; at least he’s playing one in a movie that’s opening tomorrow in Italian theaters.

Pietro Castellitto is the star of a new movie that was based on a book by British writer Nick Hornby,  E’ Nata Una Star? (A star is born?), directed by Lucio Pellegrini and also starring Luciana Littizzetto and Rocco Papaleo (Basilicata Coast to Coast). The story’s about a shy teenager who discovers that he has what it takes to be the perfect porn star and about his parents’ differing reaction to the big news.

This is Pietro’s (middle name “Contento” – happy)  first starring role after small parts in a couple of his father’s films, despite saying that he’d, at first, given no thought to acting. He told “La Stampa”, “My father wanted me to do anything but act. He was afraid that I’d get a big head and he preferred that I study.

Early reviews say that the acting is good but that the script is weak – a shame, since Nick Hornby books, like About a Boy, usually make pretty good movies.
