Will Someone Just Tell Me How Il Paese Delle Spose Infelici Ends?

I know that some of you probably think that I have a hard time ever saying anything bad about Italian movies but that’s not true; I’ve disliked and even hated many of them. I’m the one that wrote the blasphemous review of the beloved L’Ultimo Bacio. (It blows.)

Luckily for me this is a blog and not the New York Times because I felt no obligation to finish watching Pippo Mezzapesa’s Il Paese Delle Spose Infelice last night. I kept falling asleep and I just gave up. If there’s some redeeming occurrence in the final scenes that I should go back and watch, will somebody let me know?

Based on that part that I watched, it’s a coming of age story, part Summer of ’42 and part Stand By Me,  about some boys who play soccer together and witness a young woman dressed in a wedding dress that is trying to kill herself by jumping off the roof of a church. (She says that she wasn’t trying to kill herself, but to fly). I think that’s supposed to be a warm and emotional buddy movie, but it’s just boring.

Let’s be fair; I’ve watched so many bad movies so that you all didn’t have to. Somebody return the favor and watch this one for me.

The trailer makes it look so much better than it really is.
