READ MY REVIEW OF IL ROSSO E IL BLU
If I based what I was going to write about solely on what the majority of people wanted to read, I’d be writing about Scamarcio every day. This would be the I Love Riccardo Scamarcio Blog.
And I do like him a lot. I’m not sure “love” is the appropriate word. Gli voglio bene e basta.
Riccardo’s in a new comedy directed by Giuseppe Piccioni (Luce Dei Miei Occhi), with Margherita Buy and Roberto Herlitzka, Il Rosso e il Blu (The Red and the Blue), out in Italian theaters this September. In it, four stories intertwine in a Roman school: An older art history teacher (Herlitzka), cynical and sharp-witted, has become a little burned out in his job; a young, enthusiastic substitute teacher has arrived for his first job (Riccardo’s getting a little too old for this role); a principal (Buy) finds herself taking an interest in a student whose mother has disappeared; a young couple, in love, defies authority.
Take a look at the trailer. It looks like sitcom stuff to me. And it looks like there might be a student/teacher relationship (Scamarcio) that would get an American teacher arrested. Maybe the rules are different in Italy.
