When the guy who installed and maintains our various modes of home entertainment talked us into new Blu-ray players he raved about Vudu, the service that lets you buy and watch HD movies and TV shows on-demand. Paul said that having Vudu is like having Blockbuster Video in my house, and that with my love of Italian movies I’d love you.
Not loving you so much; not yet, anyway.
We have found quite a few Hollywood movies that are available to stream through Vudu and no place else, but as for the Italian ones: who knows? There’s no way to search.
I contacted Vudu customer support and asked how one might find the Italian movies, or French, Spanish, or Bollywood for that matter, and was told that there was no way to search for specific language movies except for a general “foreign” genre.
There are almost 1200 foreign films available – should I quit my job to stay home and search for them?
I’ll be looking, off and on. So far I’ve found Baarìa and Vallanzasca: Angel of Evil. I have a feeling there will be nothing surprising in the catalogue, although the movies are available in instant standard-definition, instant high-definition, and HDX and it’s pay per view with no other fees, so that makes it interesting.
So Vudu, c’mon. We need a search for individual countries and languages like Netflix has. Anyone who feels as I do should contact Vudu customer support and let them know.
