One Hundred and Fifteen Years Ago today Italy’s favorite comic actor, Antonio Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno di Bisanzio De Curtis Gagliardi, or Totò was born. Crowned the “Prince of Laughter”, to this day when I tell Italians how much I love their movies they usually get a big smile and say, “Totò!”.
Totò died in 1967 but no one has ever really taken his place in the hearts of Italian moviegoers, so here, today, one of his movies, complete with subtitles: La Banda Degli Onesti – The Band Of Honest Men.
