Gabriele Salvatore’s Educazione Siberian

February 28 Italians will get a chance to see the new movie from Gabriele Salvatores starring John Malkovich, ‘Educazione Siberian’, a drama based on a memoir about growing up as a member of the Urka community in the small republic of Transnistria.

Educazione Siberian is an English language film that will, of course, be dubbed into Italian for Italian audiences. It’s probable that it will be in competition at the Berlin Film Festival. Gabriele Salvatores is the director that brought us Io Non Ho Paura (I’m Not Scared).

“It was as if it were my first film because there were a lot of firsts”,said Salvatores. “It was the first time that I made a film that wasn’t my original idea, it’s the most important from a productive and artistic point of view that I have ever made. And it was my first English language film with not one of my actor friends cast in the parts. It was like a movie dream that I had when I was a child.”
