The Io e Te (Me and You) soundtrack is a welcome change from the often dismal music in Italian movies and features the film’s original music composed by Franco Piersanti (We Have a Pope, My Brother Is an Only Child), Absolution by Muse and Boys Don’t Cry by The Cure.
But the real gem is David Bowie’s Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola, an Italian version of his song, Space Oddity. Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola, with Italian lyrics by and Italian lyricist Mogol was released in Italy in 1969. Instead of translating the lyrics of the original version Mogol wrote a love story about a young couple that meet on the top of a mountain, “Ragazzo solo, ragazza sola” meaning “Lonely Boy, Lonely Girl”.
