Maybe only as a real mother could, a mother with acting ability, of course, Aida Burruano practically steals the show in her son Luigi Lo Cascio‘s directorial debut, La Città Ideale.
In my favorite scene, she helps her son’s character, Michele, prepare for his trial, and it’s almost like cheating; the chemistry between mother and son is authentic because of great dialogue but also because it seems all too real.
Don’t forget – the film opens in Italy on April 11!
