Maria Sole Tognazzi’s ‘Viaggio Sola’ opened yesterday in Italian theaters and she’ll bring it to New York in June for Open Roads: New Italian Cinema. Open Roads is America’s best Italian film festival and runs this year June 6 through 12.
An Italian reviewer says of the film, “Maria Sole Tognazzi constructs an original film, discarding the regular, sentimental, comedy clichés.”
In it, Irene (played by Margherita Buy) plays a hotel inspector for luxury hotels, travelling alone from city to city giving white glove scrutiny to unsuspecting hotels.
