Vergogna Amazon! No Good Search For Italian Movies!

If you love Italian movies (or any foreign films) and want to find them on DVD or to stream on Amazon.com, good luck. How is it that I hadn’t noticed the impossible search for them on Amazon?

I’d planned on having a list of movies that you could rent or buy from the website, but I quickly ran into a roadblock that I must have hit before but have forgotten about. There is no way to search by country or language.

At first, I thought I must be doing something wrong so I decided to do an online chat with customer service to find out what it was, and at the end of the chat the representative admitted that it was impossible. You can, as he pointed out, use search words like “Italian movies” and “subtitles” but the results are incomplete and erroneous. For instance, a search of “Italian movies with subtitles” produces a list that begins with “Mostly Martha”, a German language movie that stars an Italian actor, Sergio Castellitto, so I guess that’s where the confusion comes in, but it’s hardly helpful for someone searching for Italian movies. There’s no mention of it being a German movie in the description.

I won’t give up but this is going to take more time than I’d originally planned. I’ll start collecting the (actual) Italian movies (Mostly Martha excluded) and have a clickable icon on the right side for the work in progress.

I’ve made a complaint to Amazon, and I urge you to do the same. Basically, all of their foreign films are lumped together, not useful for lovers of films of any language or region.
