“Sì, è vero, girerò un film con Michael Caine e si intitolerà In The Future.“ (“Yes, it’s true, I’m shooting a movie with Michael Caine and it will be titled ‘In The Future’),”, says director Paolo Sorrentino.
Before he even finds out if his big hit, “La Grande Bellezza” gets nominated for an Oscar; he’s chosen 2 time Academy Award winner Caine to star in his next project scheduled for the end of 2014.
Thank god we didn’t scare off Sorrentino here in the US after his disastrous experience with This Must Be The Place starring Sean Penn; the new film will be made partly here and partly in Italy. Though This Must Be The Place did well in Italy and in other countries, it was completely snubbed here in America (and I’ll never understand the reason) with limited distribution and no marketing.
Sorrentino’s reportedly on his way here as I write to promote La Grande Bellezza, which opens in New York on November 15, Los Angeles on the 22nd, and other US cities beginning the 29th, so let’s show him a little love and go see The Great Beauty.
