It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas; that’s pretty great, too, but I’m talking about my favorite film festival, Open Roads: New Italian Cinema at New York City’s Lincoln Center.
Open Roads: New Italian Cinema (June 6 – 12, 2014)
This new generation of Italian filmmakers continues to open up and explore new areas of Italian life and culture, telling new stories in surprisingly new ways.
I am taking these dates with a small grain of salt because last year it was first announced that the festival would go from Friday until the following Thursday and then closer to the dates changed to Thursday until Wednesday; those days of the week seem more likely for this year too.
Last year was a spectacular opportunity to see films with their filmmakers in person, like Daniele Ciprì and Marco Bellocchio.
