The EFAs, or The European Film Awards were given out last night in Berlin and there were four wins for Paolo Sorrentino’s ‘La Grande Bellezza’ (The Great Beauty), including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Editing, and Best Film!

Sorrentino was not there to accept his award but Toni Servillo accepted the awards saying, “I believe in the Italian genius, in spite of our habit of of self-flagellation. We work hard in Italy and abroad to get people interested in us and recognition. If instead of investing in the industry as a whole and in the end nothing coming of it, things would go better if we invest in our culture.”
We’ll find out if there’s an Academy Award nomination for Sorrentino on January 8th.
