The Cannes Film Festival lineup will be announced on Thursday, and rumor has it that three Italian films will make it to the Croisette this year.
Asia Argento’s new film (Get your camera ready, Gilles), Imcompresa, with Charlotte Gainsbourg and Gabriele Garko, and Alice Rohrwacher’s second film, La Meraviglie (her first, Corpo Celeste), starring her sister Alba and Monica Bellucci.

There is hope that director Daniele Ciprì’s La Buca will be there, starring Sergio Castellitto and Rocco Papaleo. And in the Critics’ Week section, Sebastiano Riso’s directorial debut, Più Buio di Mezzanotte, the story of Davide Cordova, a drag queen from Catania.

And check out the official Cannes poster for 2014, with Marcello Mastroianni, who would have been 90 this year, in a picture from La Dolce Vita.
