I’ve been in touch with my favorite actor Luigi Lo Cascio and he tells me that there is a good chance that I Nostri Ragazzi will make its way to The Venice Film Festival, and since I am definitely making my way to the Venice Film Festival, I may find myself there with Luigi Lo Cascio, director Ivano De Matteo, and the rest of the cast, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Alessandro Gassman, and Barbora Bobulova.
I Nostri Ragazzi is based on Herman Koch’s dark and intense story of two couples who are discussing a problem with their children over dinner. The book ‘Het diner’, published in 2009 and has been translated into 21 languages. It was partly based on a true story involving a homeless woman named, María del Rosario Endrinal Petit, in Barcelona in 2005.
