It seems that there are a lot of Italian actors and filmmakers that haven’t gotten the hang of Twitter. Not that I want them to go all Kim Kardashian on us and start thinking they can’t make a move without telling us about it, but I’d like to see more tweeting from the stars.
Some of them get it, though, and they can be interactive (if you hound them like I do). If you haven’t already followed these guys, do it today:
If you are into Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo their Twitter account will tell you about everything they are up to, including a free showing of their film Chiedimi se sono felici that is available today only on their YouTube channel.
Alessandro Gassman gets Twitter; he knows that we want to hear about more than just his political opinions and he has fun with his Twitter account making him a fun follow.
Paolo Virzì seems to have closed his Twitter account, or changed it so I can’t find it anyway (was it something I said, Paolo?) but if you are into the director of the year and his film Il Capitale Umano, there are some other fun ways to follow the action on Twitter.
The American author of the book the movie was based on, Human Capital, is Stephen Amidon, and he and his wife Caryl Casson have been keeping me up to date with the excitement over the movie.
And if Paolo isn’t the only Virzì brother you are into, like me, you’ll want to follow the equally talented Carlo Virzì, a musician that does the soundtracks for Paolo. He’s also made his own very entertaining film, I Più Grandi di Tutti.
And don’t forget to follow I Love Italian Movies; I’ll tell you everything they aren’t telling us!
