My TBTs don’t go back decades, but even Pane e Tulipani is an old movie now!
1) Tainted Love – Non Ti Muovere
Sergio Castellitto starred in and directed this adaptation of his wife’s book. Margaret Mazzantini’s character “Italia” was brought to life by Penelope Cruz, and if you want to see Penelope’s best performance ever, you’ve got to see this film. 2004

2) Mean Girls Roman Style – Caterina Va In Città
DIrector Paolo Virzì’s truly wonderful coming of age story of Caterina and her looney father who throws her to the wolves, or rather, Roman High School girls. 2003
3) What’s the opposite of Coming of Age? Acting your age? – Dillo Con Parole Mie
Daniele Luchetti’s adorable summer fun comedy. The last scene is the best! 2003

4) Two Brothers, Two Paths: La Meglio Gioventù
383 minutes and worth every one of them (it was originally a TV miniseries), La Meglio Gioventù stars Luigi Lo Cascio, Jasmine Trinca and Alessio Boni. 2003
5) Riccardo Scamarco is the perfect man! L’Uomo Perfetto
One of my favorite rom-coms of all time. 2005
6) Silly Sexy Fun – Commediasexi
Guilty pleasure – what else can I say. The great cast makes it a little less embarrassing to admit liking it!
2006

7) Paola Cortellesi is adorable – Tu La Conosci Claudia
I must have watced this one 100 times, and sometimes just for this scene with the “Relax-o-matic. My favorite from Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.

8) Classic Carlo Verdone with gorgeous Claudia Gerini – Sono Pazzo di Iris Blond
Dated, 90s craziness makes for kitschy Verdone fun. 1996
9) Molto Romantico – La Finestra Di Fronte
Ferzan Ozpetek’s bitttersweet love story + hot Raoul Bova = a movie must see.

10) And did you think I’d leave out – Pane e Tulipane?
My favorite; Rosalba finds the life that she wants and she lives it.
