A crush is “una cotta” in Italian, at least I’m pretty sure about that. Sometimes Italians know what I’m talking about and sometimes they don’t when I say, “Ho la cotta per Luigi Lo Cascio” . My “cotta” is on Lo Cascio, a little silly for a woman my age, but he’s just so particularly fascinating to me. I don’t have romantic feelings for him, but I think he is a very expressive actor and his love scenes are very romantic.

Pif (Piefrancesco Diliberto) is a very popular TV star in Italy that made a very popular movie that’s been praised by critcs and the public alike, La Mafia Uccide Solo D’Estate. (The Mafia Only Kills In The Summer). Pif is 42 and from Palermo; I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and the first (ridiculously embarrassing) words that I said to him were “Wow, you’re big!” and I meant, wildly successful. He seemed genuinely surprised that I would think that about him. He seems adorably humble and he is even better looking in person. And he is. Big, that is. A lot of Italians have celebrity crushes on him.

Cristiana Capotondi was Pifs costar in La Mafia Uccide Solo D’Estate and she is just so very cute in all of her movies, but she’s sexy too (just do a google image search for her and you’ll see). She’s 34, from Rome, and she was also so very cute in Amiche Da Morire and Kryptonite Nella Borsa.

Riccardo Scamarcio is hot, there’s no other way to put it. He’s the longtime boyfriend of Valeria Golino but they seem to have a rather (cough) open relationship, so go for it! He was very sexy in Cosimo e Nicole but he was also in my favorite rom-com, L’Uomo Perfetto.
