New From Daniele Ciprì :La Buca

Two years after his directorial debut, È Stato il Figlio (It was the son) Daniele Ciprì”s second film La Buca (the hole) opens in Italy September 25. La Buca is a comedy, a buddy film starring the “odd couple” Sergio Castellitto and Rocco Papaleo as Oscar, a washed up lawyer who’s getting by as a petty swindler and Armando, an innocent ex-con who is released from prison after 27 years.

Oscar is convinced that he can get compensation from the government worth millions for Armando and so they collaborate “in an undefined city and in an unspecified era, in which modern-day events are mixed with Fifties elements, like cars, bicycles, street-lights, bistros, fur collars and black antique telephones.” (from cineuropa.com). Also starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi as a tender-hearted barista.
