Cleveland, Ohio has its problems but it also has a heck of a metroparks system, LeBron James, and an amazing Italian film festival!
Last night I was asked to say a few words before Roberto Andò’s Viva La Libertà to a packed audience who laughed out loud though the whole movie and seemed to really love it.
Every year director Joyce Mariani selects contemporary Italian films and brings them to Cleveland; she’s like my hero! Movies like Vivà La Libertà and next week’s Tutti i Santi Giorni from director Paolo Virzì are made available to Italian film-lovers that may not have other ways to see them or even know they exist.
I’ve been asked to say a few words before next week’s film, so if you see me, say hello! I had an opportunity to talk with the lead (handsome!) actor Luca Marinelli so you’ll want to hear about that.
