The soundtracks used to be the worst part of Italian movies, but with composers like Carlo Virzì (Paolo’s brother) and other bright young musicians  getting involved with the soundtracks, they are greatly improved.

Carlo did the soundtrack for Paolo’s La Prima Cosa Bella

 

 

 

For Il Capitale Umano, Paolo Virzì used an Italian band called The Jackie O’s Farm. Here’s there music video, “I’m sorry”.

 

 

 

Paolo found singer Thony on YouTube and not only had her do the soundtrack for Tutti i Santi Giorni, but let her play the lead role.

 

 

 

Giuliano Taviani did the original music for the soundtrack for Anime Nere, as well as Cesare Deve Morire and Nessuno Mi Può Giudicare.

 

 

 

Santi Pulvirenti did the soundtrack for Pif’s La Mafia Uccide Solo D’Estate. Here’s Tosami Lady:
