Kids from 25 countries between the ages of 12 and 14 have chosen an Italian film with their vote: Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores’s super-hero film is the EFA Young Audience Award winner.
The Invisible Boy mixes comic book action with superpowers for a shy kid with normal kid problems and addresses issues like bullying and young love. The boy, who discovers he’s invisible when he’s got a super-hero costume on is played by Ludovico Girardello, and his mother is played by Valeria Golino. The villain is played by Fabrizio Bentivoglio, a police psychologist with his own agenda.

Il Ragazzo Invisibile will be screened at New York Lincoln Center’s Open Roads: New Italian Cinema, Sunday, June 7 at 1:00pm and Thursday, June 11 at 2:30pm.
