And The Nominations For The David For Best Film Are: All Wonderful!

As the films continue to get better and better, the nominations get more and more exciting! Just look at the competition!

For Best FIlm:

Anime Nere (Black Souls), got more nominations than any other film this year and it is spectacular. From director Francesco Munzi, this “not a Mafia movie” is our official pick.

Hungry Hearts, from director Saverio Costanzo, is positively the most disturbing movies we’ve seen in a long time, and it’s about a mother and her Indigo Child”. Alba Rohrwacher and Adam Driver won best actress and best actor at the Venice Film Festival 2014.

Il Giovane Favoloso, (Leopardi) from director Mario Martone, stars the amazing Elio Germano and just won the Nastro D’Argento for Film of the Year.

And of course, the also in competition at Cannes 2015, Mia Madre, from director Nanni Moretti, the semi-autobiographical tribute to his mom, who died not so long ago.

and last but not least,

Director Ermanno Olmi dedicated Torneranno i Prati to his father who told him war stories of trenches on the Italian front in the First World War.
