The Young Pope tells the story of the papacy of Lenny Belardo, a fictional character, complex and full of contradictions, so conservative in his choices that it borders on obscurantism, but at the same time extremely compassionate to those in need. He’s a powerful man, capable of resisting the suck ups, without being afraid of losing consensus.

In the 8 installments Belardo, to be played by Jude Law, finds himself challenged with his own personal feelings and the constant fear of being abandoned by God. And in the end, he’s not afraid to take on the responsibility of defending God and the world he represents.
