Your Italian Movie Sing Along

Cantiamo!

I Più Grandi di Tutti (The Greatest Of Them All)

Starring Claudia Pandolfi, Alessandro Roja, Dario Cappanera and Marco Cocci as Sabrina, Loris, Rino, and Mao, members of a rock band that broke up, and not in a pretty way, 15 years earlier. The four musicians dispersed, hating each other and never wanting ever to see each other again until along came the rich, mysterious Ludovico Reviglio (Corrado Fortuna), begging them for an interview and for them to reunite for a concert. Their band, called Pluto was more of a flash in the pan and even Sabrina, Loris, Rino and Mao know it, but the guy is offering them a lot of money to do it, and they all really need the money. Directed by Carlo Virzì (Paolo’s little brother) if you haven’t seen I Più Grandi di Tutti, you need to.

Feeling Good

From Paola Cortellesi’s newest comedy Scusate Se Esiste (Excuse Me For Living), Raoul Bova’s got her feelin’ good.

Amore Che Vieni, Amore Che Vai

A cool song from the soundtrack of Daniele Luchett’s Anni Felici (These Happy Years), an autobiographical film about Luchetti’s colorful parents.

Smetto Quando Voglio (I Can Quit When I Want)

Title song from Sydney Sibilia’s comedy starring Edoardo Leo.

And a couple of oddball tracks from La Grande Bellezza’s (The Great Beauty) soundtrack:

My Hearts in the Highland

Far L’Amore

Telefonami Tra Vent’anni

Francesco Archibugi’s Il Nome Del Figlio (An Italian Name) got Luigi Lo Cascio, Alessandro Gassman, and Rocco Papaleo up singing and dancing.

Seven Nation Army

One of my favorite songs from the White Stripes makes a great first few minutes of ACAB with Pierfrancesco Favino.

I’m Sorry

In Il Capitale Umano (Human Capital) from director Paolo Virzì,  I’m Sorry by The Jackie O’s Farm

50 Mila Lacrime

I can’t get enough of Riccardo Scamarcio dancing to Nina Zilli’s song in Mine Vaganti (Loose Cannons).

Frasi D’Amore

And Don Backy, just loved you in Pane e Tulipani (Bread and Tulips).
