There are a million more: here are the top 7.
- The cast is amazing. The two couples at the infamous dinner are played by Luigi Lo Cascio (Il Meglio Gioventù) and Giovanna Mezzogiorno (Vincere); Alessandro Gassman (Il Nome Del Figlio) and Barbora Bobulova (Anime Nere). The kids are Rosabell Laurenti Sellers(Game of Thrones and Jacopo Olmo Antinori (Io e Te).

2) The director, Ivano De Matteo is the coolest guy ever. I asked the director of Gli Equilibristi (Balancing Act) how he decided to make the additions that he did to the story, and he said, “because I’m a writer. Duh”. No, he didn’t say the “duh” – that’s just what I was thinking. Obviously, he’s not just a great director, he’s a really good writer.
3) It’s based on a best-selling book by Dutch author Herman Koch, and it actually improves upon the story. As my daughter said, “It fixes all the book’s problems.”
4) It deals with an interesting and very relevant problem in today’s society. Who is at fault in this story? The parents? Technology? Society as a whole? What precisely created this extremely messed up situation?
5) The trailer.
