In a biopic directed by Michael Mann, Christian Bale will play the founder of the auto manufacturer, Ferrari.
Set in the ’50s, the film, which Mann has been working on for years, will follow the ascent of Enzo Ferrari the entrepreneur, the engineer and the pilot, capable of bringing the Ferrari trademark to the top of the luxury car world.
The shooting will start next year but the film’s release date has not been announced.
Mann’s film about the professional and private life of Enzo Ferrari isn’t even the only film in production on the subject; rumor has it that Clint Eastwood will direct Robert De Niro as Ferrari, and this one could start filming very shortly in Italy covering a larger part of Ferrari’s life, from 1945 until the ’80s.
