The 40th Toronto Film Festival is molto Italiano.
What a lineup! The Toronto International Film Festival will run from September 10 until the 20th.
Two films will have already debuted at Venice:
Sangue Del Mio Sangue from Marco Bellocchio “is not a Vampire movie”, according to cinematographer Daniele Ciprì even though there is a mysterious count that lives only by night. Stars Alba Rohrwacher, Piergiorgio Bellocchio and Filippo Timi.
L’Attesa from director Piero Messina is about a Sicily “without the sun and the oranges” and is a story that is “between a thriller and a dream” about a guy’s fiance and his mother waiting for him in an ancient villa during the Easter celebration. Stars Juliette Binoche.

Youth – La Giovinezza from director Paolo Sorrentino debuted at Cannes and stars two-time Oscar winner Michael Caine, Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda along with Harvey Keitel and Paul Dano.
The film is an original screenplay written by Sorrentino and is set in an elegant hotel in the Alps where Fred and Mick, two old friends confront the truth of their old age together.
Mia Madre’s from Nanni Moretti and debuted at Cannes; it is a semi-autobiographical film starring Margherita Buy and honoring his own mother.
Louisiana (The Other Side) from director Roberto Minervini and follows up his ‘Stop the Pounding Heart’; It’s an up close and personal look at Louisiana, USA.
Bella e Perduta from director Pietro Marcello is about the foolish servant Pulcinella, sent from the depths of Mt. Vesuvius to present-day Campania to honor the last wishes of the poor shepherd Tommaso.
Exit/Entrance or Trasumanar, is a short film from Federica Foglia and is a visual and poetic essay on what it is like to be displaced as a person. The protagonist is a painter who wanders the town in which he lives to sketch and paint oscillating between nostalgia and desire to belong.
