Back a Kickstarter campaign to support new Italian cinema!
N.I.C.E. (New Italian Cinema Events) is a Florence-based non-for-profit cultural organization founded by a group of film professionals in 1991, to become, over the past 25 years, one of the most significant and appreciated traveling showcases of the up-and-coming Italian cinema worldwide.
What they do:
Every summer they select the seven most noteworthy feature-length films made by first or second-time Italian directors out of over 80 titles produced in Italy yearly and we screen them around the world during year-round film festivals, currently held in the United States, Russia and China. The seven titles, together with special tributes and retrospectives dedicated to selected masterpieces of the Italian film history, are presented by their directors in person flying from Italy thanks to N.I.C.E. to meet with the festival international audiences.
The festival in the USA is traditionally held in November right before Thanksgiving in New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, representing the oldest series to have ever been organized by N.I.C.E. and the first to take place every year. This year is particularly special for us as it marks N.I.C.E.’s 25th anniversary in New York City!
“The reason and goal for our Kickstarter campaign is simple and straightforward: celebrating our 25th anniversary in the city by taking N.I.C.E. to the next level. Should we succeed in our campaign, we will be able to add 2 extra days of Italian screenings to our traditional NYC slate and involve local influencers and communications experts to help us fill up our venues with as many New Yorkers as possible.”
There’s a reward list that will get you advanced tickets to special screenings and events, limited-edition “birthday” gadgets and a chance to attend this year’s “City of Florence Award” ceremony in Florence, Italy on December 13th, 2015 – so get Kickstarting!
