The exciting part is that there are many more than 10!

The Dynamic Trio presented Italy with an impressive tour de force at the Cannes Film Festival 2015.

Paolo Sorrentino, with La Giovinezza (Youth), due out in American theaters in December.

Matteo Garrone, with Il Racconto Dei Racconti (Tale of Tales), coming to the US this spring.

and Nanni Moretti, with Mia Madre (My Mother), which premiered in New York and will surely make the rounds in the US early next year.

Messina worked as assistant director for Paolo Sorrentino for years and them nabbed Juliette Binoche for his directorial debut, L’Attesa. He says we should expect it in our theaters around Easter.

I’ve lost track of all the awards that Laura Bispuri has won for her feature film debut, Vergine Giurata (Sworn Virgin). The story of the northern Albanian woman who relinquishes her sexuality to gain control over her life stars Alba Rohrwacher.

Alba’s sister Alice is just 33 but has already directed two important films, Corpo Celeste, in 2011, and Le Meraviglie (The Wonders), a film that debuted at Cannes.

The “Can’t Wait To See What They Do Next”

Francesco Munzi seems on his way to Sorrentino, Garrone, and Moretti status; his film Anime Nere (Black Souls) won the David di Donatello award for Best Film and a boatload of other awards for best director, best cinematographer, best producer, best screenwriting etc.

Stefano Sollima understands the importance of television, and not only is his most recent film Suburra, produced for Netflix, one of my favorites of the year, but there will be a mini-series based on it in 2016.
