Can Checco Do It Again?

Love him or hate him, Checco Zalone’s the man.

This comic actor debuted 2009 with Cado Dalle Nubi (I fall from the clouds), followed by Che Bella Giornata (What A Beautiful Day) in 2011 which earned € 42.779.000 at the Italian box office, out doing even Roberto Benigni’s La Vita È Bella (Life Is Beautiful).

In 2013 his third film, Sole A Catinelle, did even better with € 51.000.000 at the box office. Can he do it again? Can he break his own record?

Checco Zalone’s new film Quo Vado tells the story of, guess who, Checco, living life exactly the way he’s always dreamed. He lives with his parents, therefore avoiding the expense of independent living. He’s been successful in stringing along his fiance, avoiding the responsibility of marriage and children. He’s got a secure job with the local office of hunting and fishing. What more could a Checco want from life?

One day, of course, or it wouldn’t be funny, everything changes. Government cuts leave Checco with a difficult decision: Accept a transfer to another town or lose his job. Summoned to the office of the cruel director la dottoressa Sironi, Checco learns that he’s going to have to try out a few different positions a bit less comfortable than his last one and he ends up at a scientific base at the North Pole.
