Mrs. Paolo Virzì’s made a name for herself.

I have to admit it; I wasn’t always convinced, but Micaela won me over in a big way. Her performance as Serena, the passionate, emotional, sexually conflicted mother in Daniele Luchetti’s semi-autobiographical Anni Felici (Those Happy Years) was one of my favorites in years.
She can do drama (watch the “meltdown at the beach” scene in Anni Felici and you’ll see what I mean), and she can do comedy, and we saw her be seriously kooky as Anita, the vengeful executive in Giorgia Farina’s Ho Ucciso Napoleone (I Killed Napoleon).
She’s great. You’re great Micaela. Tanti auguri; we can’t wait to see your upcoming La Pazza Gioia, directed by your husband and also starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
