Tribeca 2016: Screening Schedule For Perfetti Sconosciuti (Perfect Strangers)

The Official Online Film Guide is out with only one Italian film, but it stars, well, practically everybody.

Paolo Genovese’s new bittersweet comedy is an ensemble movie with a pretty impressive ensemble of the hottest actors.

During a dinner party, seven friends decide to play a dangerous game. Each attendee places their cell phone on the table and agrees to make all texts and calls public in an attempt to prove that they have nothing to hide, and I think we can all see how that could play out.

I’m a big fan of Genovese’s 2012 Christmas movie, Una Famiglia Perfetta (A Perfect Family), where the wealthy and mysterious Leone (Sergio Castellito) hired everybody in the house to play parts, pretending to be his “perfect family” for the holidays. A beautiful wife (Claudia Gerini), a loving mother and brother (Marco Giallini), and three (three and a half, or four, depending on how you look at it) children doted on Leone and were paid to do it; missteps were not tolerated.

Genovese’s just announced that his popular film, the 2010 Immaturi (The Immature) will soon be a television series.
