The film could be Pericle il Nero, directed by Stefano Mordini and produced by Golino together with Riccardo Scamarcio, Viola Sestrieri, and Dardenne Brothers.

The feature film, in which Golino stars along with Scamarcio tells the story of Pericle il Nero, a novel with the same title by Giuseppe Ferrandino, a kind of noir film about a gangster who learns what it is to be a man when he begins to rebel against the rules and meets a strange woman.
Abel Ferrara had made known his intentions to direct the story, but when Scamarcio took on the production, he chose Mordini to direct.

When making this announcement, Golino added her displeasure with the David di Donatello awards, having been nominated for Best Actress but her film, Per Amor Vostro, otherwise snubbed:
“It’s a pity that there was only my nomination and the film didn’t get any. It’s something that I found scandalous and offensive.”
