Available tomorrow, April 28, Le Confessioni by Marco Olivieri, Roberto Andòs confessor.
Journalist and film critic Marco Olivieri’s awesome new book has Roberto Andò and Angelo Pasquini’s screenplay, photos from the set from Lia Pasqualino, and will be signed by the author!
Le confessioni (The Confessions) is a film from Roberto Andò that hit Italian box offices last weekend and is about a monk played by Toni Servillo who is invited to a G8 summit and asked by the powerful director of the International Monetary Fund to hear his confession on one dramatic night. The encounter between the two men occurs on the eve of an important decision that must be made with consequences for the poorest of the poor on the planet.
Also in the stellar cast, Daniel Auteuil, Connie Nielsen, Pierfrancesco Favino, Lambert Wilson, the film transports the viewer to a shadowy world of dark secrets that threaten the priest-penitent privilege.

You’ll remember Andò from his last film, also starring Toni Servillo, Viva La Libertà, about Enrico Oliveri (Servillo) the secretary of the major opposition party who goes AWOL and hides out at an old girlfriend’s house in Paris (“What’s he doing here, Mom?” ” I think he just needs a little rest.”), an absurd and Pirandello-esque scenario works surprisingly well.

And don’t forget about Marco Olivieri’s last book, La Memoria Degli Altri: Il Cinema Di Roberto Andò.
