5 Italian Reasons To Love TV

1)Paolo Sorrentino’s joining the “great tv” club with his upcoming HBO series starring Jude Law, The Young Pope. It premieres in Italy in October and will follow soon after in the United States.

2) More great TV for the US beginning Wednesday, August 24th at 10:00pm on the Sundance channel, Italy’s most successful show ever, Gomorrah, the TV series. Based on the book by Roberto Saviano and the movie by Matteo Garrone, I spent a weekend binge-watching on Italian DVD and I’m obsessed.

3) More TV fun, Netflix commissioned probably my favorite movie of 2015, Suburra, and the excitement doesn’t stop there. There’s a TV series based on this truly amazing movie, coming in 2017.

4) Monday July 1, 2016 Netflix will unveil season 2 of the its series, Marco Polo, starring Italian actors Lorenzo Richelmy and Pierfrancesco Favino.
